SATO Europe GmbH Benelux has successfully implemented a solution around its innovative FX3-LX printer for Vissers Energy Group, a leading petrol station network in the Benelux region, at 50 of its Moments & More convenience stores, resulting in significant improvements in food safety and operational efficiency.
The century-old Vissers Energy Group, operating 65 petrol stations with over 400 employees, faced challenges with their manual labelling process for fresh food items. The integration of SATO's FX3-LX printer has revolutionized their operations, particularly in their Moments & More convenience store concept within the petrol stations.
"In the past, information like price, ingredients and allergens were hand-written. Together with SATO, we developed a solution that integrates our fresh food product range with existing data in our system, enabling accurate label printing by default," said Ivo Rutjens, Business Intelligence Specialist at Vissers Energy Group. "By having SATO printer print the right thing by default for the right products, we can be sure of label and price accuracy for our on-the-go food offerings."
Key benefits of SATO's food safety solution
1.Enhanced User Experience
"The ease of use was paramount. Other market solutions proved too complex for our fast-paced environment," noted Rob Doorn, Formulae Advisor at Vissers.
2. Waste Reduction
The automation has significantly reduced manual errors and food waste in the fresh food section.
3. Improved Shelf Life Management
"Now, product storage duration is crystal clear, minimising unnecessary waste of our fresh food items," shared a kitchen staff member from Moments & More.
4. Strengthened Food Safety
The system ensures all fresh products are correctly labelled, enhancing compliance and safety standards crucial for on-the-go food service.
Frank Boerakker, Project Manager for HoReCa at SATO Europe GmbH Benelux, highlighted the technical aspects: "We've utilized SATO Online Services (SOS) and SATO App Storage (SAS) for updates, and incorporated allergen icons into the labels for enhanced clarity and compliance, which is vital in a quick-service food environment."
The collaboration between Vissers Energy Group and SATO Europe sets a new benchmark for innovation in the petrol station retail sector. "Our partnership with SATO has been exemplary from the outset. Their swift response and implementation instilled confidence in our ongoing collaboration," Doorn concluded.
