The SATO Group, a global pioneer in auto-ID and labelling solutions, will demonstrate its lineup of PJM RFID products for transfusion medicine management at the upcoming 38th International Congress of the International Society of Blood Transfusion (ISBT) June 23-27, 2024 in Barcelona, Spain.
SATO's PJM RFID blood management products are safe for use with all biological products and offer automated tracking and real-time inventory visibility for all blood product types, a capability that barcode and handwritten systems lack.
SATO's PJM RFID Retrofit Kits fit directly into existing refrigerators, freezers, incubators, and agitation appliances without any loss of storage capacity while maintaining existing handling procedures. By maintaining storage capacity, no additional appliances are needed, saving costs while preserving the existing footprint.
"Our integrated solution helps automate the rigorous compliance processes around blood management," stated Kevin Allart, head of healthcare strategy and VP at SATO Healthcare Co., Ltd. “With RFID from SATO, blood banks and transfusion centers can keep auditable records to enhance operational efficiency and patient safety.”
SATO PJM RFID products are designed to ISO 18000-3 Mode 2 and are fully compliant with the ISBT Guidelines for the use of RFID in Transfusion Medicine. PJM RFID kits are available for refrigerators, freezers, agitators and shelving units. SATO also provides conveyor-fed tunnel readers, desktop readers, label printers, and FDA-approved labels for transfusion products.
